Since 2003 ESS has been working on linking telematics systems to the internal communication busses in vehicles. In 2004, production was started for CANgine FMS and since then, the history of CANgine FMS and its follow-up products has been a success story. Every year over 600 trucks and buses are equipped with ESS expertise. Beginning of 2010 the link between vehicle communication and telematics equipment is realized with ESS hardware in over 3000 vehicles. |
ESS will shortly introduce a newly developed device: FDlink combines information collected from the DTCO info interface D8 and the CAN/FMS bus and sends it via serial interface to the telematics device. After a successful market launch of this device, a Bluetooth version will also be developed. |
Beginning of 2010, with its fmsconnect device, ESS introduced a fully equipped telematics device for use in commercial vehicles with FMS interface. Fmsconnect provides connections to CAN/FMS, to the info interface of the digital tachograph (D8), to an additional CAN bus as well as an additional RS232 interface. Due to its integrated GSM/GPRS and GPS modules and a 2 GByte sized logging memory it provides beside the standard functions of locating vehicles all functions needed for an effective and accurate analysis of consumption relevant vehicle parameters. |
